Film Shot on Canon C300 Wins Cannes’ Biggest Prize

Coming-of-age love story Blue Is the Warmest Color won the Cannes Film Festival Palme D’Or this year and it was shot on the Canon C300.

Writes Jon Fauer of Film and Digital Times, “Two cameras were provided by PhotoCineRent in Paris. Because production lasted 4 or 5 months, the cameras were purchased by the producers instead of rented. The cameras came with Canon mounts, and files were recorded internally to CF cards. Two Angénieux 28-76 mm Optimo zooms were also purchased by production, fitted with Canon mounts (an Angenieux option).”
