When aerial photographer and camera operator Bennett Cerf was hired to film aerials for Arch motorcycles, he and his partner brought along two multi-rotor unmanned aerial systems. Cerf and his partner constructed their primary UAS, while the backup craft was a DSLRPros S1000 RTF Kit. Flying in some thin mountain air with a heavy payload (a camera attached to a 3-axis gimbal), their primary UAS failed. Cerf and his partner quickly turned to the DSLRPros S1000 RTF Kit and had the craft in the air in a matter of minutes.
“We flew the same shot that we had tried flying with our main copter and the S1000 blew us away. It was nimble and fully featured,” says Cerf. Everybody on set was impressed with how quickly the craft flew, having no problem keeping up with motorcycles traveling at speeds over 50 miles per hour. After seeing how well it performed on the Arch Motorcycle commercial, the DSLRPros S1000 RTF Kit became the primary aerial system for Cerf and his partner.
Cerf’s DSLRPros S1000 RTF Kit is configured with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4 camera to shoot 4K footage. Based on a DJI S1000 Plus aerial platform, the DSLRPros S1000 RTF Kit is fully constructed by expert technicians and is delivered to customers ready to fly.
