M dot Strange is a mixed media animator under the influence of anime, 8bit video games, the Brothers Quay, and lots of Coffee. His animated feature film We are the Strange is freaking people out all over the globe with its Str8nime style and should be terrorizing the festival circuit in 2007.

6:32 pm – Robert Liano – Producer and Co-director of “A Broad Way”

Robert Liano of Saul Goode Entertainment has been producing content in the entertainment business for nearly 20 years. After 10 yeas in the world of live sports production, he teamed with his brother on the independent documentary “Barberland,” which chronicles the vanishing tradition of the American barber. It was the wisdom and independence of the barbers in the film that inspired Liano to start Saul Goode Entertainment. The company’s first production is the massive collaborative documentary, “A Broad Way” coming to film festivals in 2007. “A Broad Way” documents one hour on the famous Broadway in New York City and is a rare example of democratic filmmaking. More than 220 amateur shooters brought their own handheld cameras and were assigned to document one Manhatten Broadway block for one hour only. The amateur filmmakers were joined by a professional crew shooting with Panasonic’s Varicam and DVCPRO 50 equipment. The goal was to capture the sights and sounds of Broadway from Battery Park to upper Manhattan. While the final film is slated for theatrical release, more than 300 hours of footage will ultimately be posted online for access by participants and the public.
