Adobe announced an end-of-the-year availability of Adobe Flash Media Encoding Server software, a scalable, high-performance solution for preparing content from a vast range of formats for delivery in the Adobe Flash format.
Adobe Flash Media Encoding Server is a new addition to the Adobe Flash Media Server family of products, which includes Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server 3, Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server 3 and Adobe Flash Media Rights Management Server software.
“The boom in digital video consumption has resulted in an explosion in the number of formats that content creators and distributors must manage,” says Jim Guerard, vice president and general manager of Dynamic Media at Adobe. “Whether delivery is to the ubiquitous Adobe Flash Player, mobile devices with Flash Lite or to the desktop via Adobe AIR, Adobe Flash Media Encoding Server is an intuitive, fast, automated and customizable encoding server solution. For companies looking to standardize on Adobe Flash technology for Web video delivery across multiple screens, Adobe Flash Media Encoding Server is an outstanding option.”
Encoding: Now from Adobe
Encoding is central to the content preparation workflow for any company delivering video to the Web, the desktop or mobile devices. With Adobe Flash Player already installed on 98 percent of Internet-connected desktops, and an increasing demand for Adobe AIR and Adobe Flash Lite applications, powerful solutions are required that will encode or transcode video to FLV or F4V formats.
Adobe Flash Media Encoding Server provides a fast, scalable solution that enables companies to transform existing or archived content into a wide variety of formats, such as Microsoft Windows Media, MPEG-4, DivX, H.264 and others, to FLV or F4V. Adobe Flash Media Encoding Server provides an enterprise-level platform to meet companies’ encoding needs as their video businesses grow. In addition to delivering exceptional power and support for a broad array of formats, Adobe Flash Media Encoding Server provides robust preprocessing filters that can perform color space conversions, normalize audio and sharpen video as an integrated part of the encoding workflow.
