A new international survey of soccer fans has found that many viewers of the World Cup will be accessing game-related content through their smartphones–the device that comes second only to TV.
Writes Steve Smith of MediaPost, “The overwhelming majority of fans will be accessing the games at home (69%) or at a friend’s home (34%), and TV will be the primary device (51%). But smartphones take a clear second as the primary device for 19% of respondents, compared to only 13% who expect their connected TVs to be the primary access point. But most fans fully expect to be multiscreening during the games.”
