The New York Times talks to Lincoln cinematographer Janusz Kaminski about his lighting choices for the biopic. Says Kaminski, "the light had to respect that iconic stature [of President Lincoln]. The light always was the brightest on Daniel [Day-Lewis] because I wanted the audience to focus on him...Even in the scenes where there are many characters, Daniel always stands out.”
