Here are the first and second trailers for Ang Lee’s upcoming film, Gemini Man, shot by Dion Beebe in stereo 3D at 120 frames per second. The third video gives audiences a look at how WETA created digital versions of Will Smith for the film.
The director says, “It is my great fortune to be able to experiment and test the limits of what new digital cinema has to offer us.”
“In the process of making the film,” Beebe tells Adrian Pennington, “I’ve realized that HFR is without question part of the future language of cinema.
“When you watch it for the first time it is both alien and captivating,” the cinematographer says. “Ang is not pursuing high frame rates for 2D. It’s about the 3D experience and eliminating motion blur through extreme frame rates.” To read the full interview, click here.
