Cut ‘This Means War’ Titles Pay Homage to 60s James Bond

The DVD version of This Means War features a highly-stylized title sequence that never made it into the final cut of the film. Inspired by the James Bond films of the 60s and 70s, codes, maps and soundwaves are projected onto the bodies of scantily-clad women.

Explains Imaginary Forces creative director Karin Fong, “[Director] McG really wanted something that would set up the two spies at the beginning of the movie as these ‘international men of mystery’. So we needed to tap into the fantasy of being a spy. And cultural shorthand for that is that they’d be like these James Bond types.”
