Cine Gear Expo 2008has announced its new location at the Universal Studios Backlot in Universal City, California on June 20-21, 2008. The sunny sidewalks, street-like setting and Hollywood studio appeal are some of the attractions offered by Universal Studios. Cine Gear Expo expects its biggest and best show ever, with more than 200 companies participating from around the world.
The great social atmosphere will continue with opportunity to introduce new technology, new equipment and products to the entertainment community in a jam-packed two days. Over 8,000 participants from the film, video, digital media, broadcast and internet industries will converge in Hollywood, California to participate in three distinct yet related events: Cine Gear Expo and Premier Seminars, Master Class Seminars and The Film Series Competition.
This landmark exhibition will bring together representatives in the areas of Film, Video, High Definition, Electronic Cinematography and Digital Cinema. The Premier Seminars will be offered at the Expo, free of charge to attendees and will run both days of the show at the Universal Studios Backlot in Universal City, California. The Master Class Seminar Series is held on Sunday June 22, 2008 at several local Hollywood Facilities.
Hosted by top industry professionals and leaders, these nominally priced Master Classes provide informative and educational seminars and lectures on current industry trends and topics.

The Film Series at will take place on June 19-21 at the Universal Studios Backlot Theaters. In keeping with the unique Cine Gear Expo charm, the show will continue the tradition of providing a casual setting with complimentary beer and wine, entertainment, food, and fun in a relaxed Hollywood studio atmosphere.
A Tribute to the Visual Art of Filmmaking will comprise screenings of films based on their illumination of the visual art forms in filmmaking, such as cinematography, art design, set and costume design, and will feature a Student Short Film Competition, the Independent Short Film Competition, and the new Independent Feature Film Competition. The winner in each category will receive one of the three Production Prize Packages.
The visual art forms of filmmaking are as integral to a film as the script, direction and performances. The Film Series at Cine Gear Expo celebrates the power of films by bringing together filmmakers, the academic community and the general public and offers a unique opportunity for creative exchange and education among groups and individuals in the entertainment industry.
