Cinematographer Chris Ray is one of the leading film professionals in the skateboard industry and a significant contributor to the success of the creative video content produced by DC Shoes.
Recently in Orlando to film professional skaters for an upcoming DC Shoes promo, Ray made sure he was prepared to shoot the scheduled night skating sequences. It’s crucial for skateboard photographers to be able to film professionally at night, as the shadows lend nighttime shots a certain elegance and the highlights make the subjects pop against the dark background. Making sure not one shot would go unseen, Ray relied on the TorchLED Bolt 250 from Core SWX.
The Bolt 250 is the perfect fit for Ray’s run-and-gun setup: the updated, sleek design gives him a great amount of light output, but without overpowering the camera body. His favorite feature is how the light can be powered via P-tap from the same battery his RED camera uses, the Core SWX HyperCore Prime. With this setup, Ray doesn’t need to carry nearly as many batteries or chargers on location.
As an integral part of his camera bag, Ray knows the light will be with him for years to come.
