Behind the Edit of the ‘Game of Thrones’ Eerie Season 6 Teaser

Game of Thrones‘ epic season 6 teaser is dark, moody, and eerie–and plays with the notion of which characters are truly dead. In other words, it’s a perfect fit to rev up excitement for the upcoming season of the hit fantasy series.

Editor Thomas Grove Carter chose to cut the teaser on Final Cut Pro X even though he was expected to ultimately deliver Avid files (which he did).

“Building up a rich sound bed was key to selling the mood of the film,” he writes on “I know many people have reservations about audio in Final Cut Pro X, but I love it. The speed of building up sound design is unmatched. I love the built in filters, the waveforms, the lack of track/collisions and the ability to time-stretch audio.”
