’22 Jump Street’ Cracks the Case with Pixel Magic

Pixel Magic completed more than 100 visual effects shots for 22 Jump Street, the sequel to 2012’s 21 Jump Street directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

The Pixel Magic team created all of the visual effects for the establishing action scene of the Metro City Port, including creating a CG gantry crane and CG netting that tangles up the heroes, CG windshield cracks on an 18-wheeler truck, and CG octopus tentacles. For a beach party in the film’s final scenes, Pixel Magic created thousands of CG beachgoers. Pixel Magic also completed numerous greenscreen composites and rig removals.
