Over the course of 40 days starting March 21, Spanish public television broadcaster TV Galicia streamed more than 300 hours of live coverage of the journey of two artists on the historic Camiño de Santiago pilgrimage route. Production company Star Planning used AVIWEST's DMNG PRO180-RA video uplink system, QUAD wideband external cellular antenna arrays and DMNG StreamHub transceivers to deliver these live transmissions for the program, Destino Santiago.

"The main technical challenge was maintaining a high-quality, reliable, real-time video transmission during hundreds of hours of live broadcasting," explains Emilio J. Fernandez, production manager of Star Planning.

AVIWEST's technologies enabled the broadcaster to transmit live HD video over 3G/4G cellular wireless networks throughout the trek. One of the capabilities of the PRO180-RA system with SafeStream technology is its automatic detection of real-time network conditions. Leveraging QUAD antennas plugged into PRO transmitters, the remote production team was able to strengthen the signal transmission in any environment, even in secluded locations.

According to Miguel Cacharrón, director at Star Planning, the system "enabled us to achieve our objectives by broadcasting video content to traditional TV channels and on social media networks."

Within its election module, Chameleon Version 10 improves how election data is ingested and managed. The new release expands the ability to enter manual election results where data feeds may not be available. This is particularly useful in less populated districts or in jurisdictions where it is not practical to organize a real-time results feed. The new functionality also provides an important failsafe in situations where a data feed may have stopped working.
