is a remake of the 1970s Clint Eastwood film and seems to have all of the hallmarks of a Coppola feature including healthy doses of eroticism and female empowerment.
The Civil War-set story is about an injured Union soldier (Colin Farrell) who takes refuge at an all-girls boarding school in the South, where seduction quickly turns into something more sinister. Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst and Elle Fanning co-star.
“I had seen the 1971 film with Clint Eastwood and it was such a far-out premise. I loved the girls’ school, southern gothic style and sexual tension in the hot south,” Coppola said at
