Leveraging Technology and Automation for a More Efficient Government Facility
Presented by Peter Carlson, VP Media Services, OMNITEC Solutions, Inc.
Thursday, December 5th at 12 PM

The HUD broadcast facility was completely rebuilt to reduce overall costs of operations, increase the amount of programming delivered, and improve its technical and content quality. The existing analog/SD, labor intensive infrastructure was replaced with an HD/SDI plant with high levels of automation. Internet-based distribution replaced expensive satellite links, and the asset management system became network-based for improved collaboration. The complete upgrade was implemented without interrupting daily operations, and was funded primarily with savings derived from more efficient operations and technology. Program quantities and quality are up dramatically, costs for labor are lower, and customer/client satisfaction is high.

GV Expo 2013 is taking place on December 3rd-5th at Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. Register here.
