Within a day of posting on Kickstarter, the brand new Digital Bolex D16 2K camera had not only reached its $100,000 goal -- it had exceeded it by more than 150%.

With 27 days to go in its campaign, the current tally stands at $287,709, with all 100 of its pre-sale cameras already sold out (they were offered as incentives at pledge points $2,500 and $3,500).

The affordable $3300 camera, which promises unheard of image quality for the price point, certainly has many industry people intrigued, including Philip Bloom who conducted an interview with the two creators. However, it doesn't come without its skeptics, like Stu Maschwitz, who wonders if all of the camera's claims could possibly be too good to be true.
