Michael Shainblum Explains How He Got Into Time-Lapse

In an interview from Creators Project, Intel and Vice, photographer Michael Shainblum explains what drew him to time-lapse and how getting diagnosed with learning disabilities as a child led him to pursuing art.

He says, "I just loved taking picture before I knew anything about what taking a picture meant....I couldn't afford a nice video camera, but I could take my images and click the button a bunch of times and that essentially would make a video. That concept really struck me: all a video is is a bunch of pictures."

Blackmagic Design announced today that Blackmagic’s DeckLink SDI Micro was used for capture and playback with the pitching tracking system “Baseboy,” a newly announced system by Qoncept Inc. capable of visualizing a ball’s path and interlocking with a camera feed. Baseboy was first used, in conjunction with a Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K, in the recent Japan/US international baseball match, Samurai Japan Series 2019, broadcast by TV Asahi as Japan’s first real time baseboy analysis system.
