Inside the Wondrous One-Take Boxing Match of 'Creed'

One of the most memorable scenes in Rocky film Creed is an entire fight shot in a single take. The feat required a week of blocking with the actors, Steadicam operator Benjamin Semanoff, cinematographer Maryse Alberti, director John Coogler, and stunt coordinator Clayton J. Barber.

"Every time they would flub the choreography, we would have to stop. We needed all that choreography to work," Coogler explains to Buzzfeed about going through 13 takes of the scene. "We purposefully didn’t shoot any cutaways, so that we would have to walk that tightrope with no safety net.”
