Hustling Production for 'American Hustle'

American Hustle's whirlwind production schedule (only 11 months from pre-production to release) has led to one of the best films of the year. The Hollywood Reporter takes an in-depth look at how it was done.

Says producer Charles Roven of director David O. Russell, who was fresh off promotional duties for Silver Linings Playbook when filming began, "On one hand, it was awe-inspiring to see how he would burn the candle at both ends. On the other hand, it was stressful because it was hard to devote as much time as one would have hoped he would during preproduction of the movie. He was definitely juggling."
