Editor Lee Smith Talks the Leisurely Pacing of 'Interstellar'

Christopher Nolan's longtime editor Lee Smith talks to HitFix about Interstellar's unusual pace, which was, of course, dictated by the narrative needs of the film.

Says Smith, "The film did not like to be sped up. It moves a lot quicker than 2001: A Space Odyssey but definitely slower than other films I've worked on with Chris, where we would normally tighten the movie. On this film we just couldn't do it. It didn't make the movie more enjoyable."
