Celia Rowlson-Hall's debut feature film Ma is an interpretive story of the Virgin Mary told mostly through dance, which is Rowlson-Hall's background.
"I create first by images, then I link them into a story, but I go into the studio and I’m just dancing and moving and trying to figure out, what’s the movement of the scene?" Rowlson-Hall tells The Moveable Fest. "Even if it doesn’t have dance per se, where is the dance? I really work entirely from a movement body place."
