BCC 6 AVX's OpenGL filters now render images in 32-bit float. Price: $2,495; $599 (upgrade for owners of previous versions)

If you like the wide-ranging capability of Boris FX apps—there are nearly 200 filters available in most of the packages—you'll be happy to know that Boris Continuum Complete 6 AVX now runs on Avid DS version 10.2.1 and higher.

While BCC AVX is bundled with all Avid Media Composer and Symphony systems, the ability to finish sequences on Avid DS creates a smooth workflow for an Avid facility.

BCC 6 AVX for DS also introduces all-new Lens Blur, Lens Transition, and Lens Shape filters; these can emulate lens blur or rack defocus effects. Time-based effects are also on tap, such as Optical Flow, Optical Stabilizer, and Motion Key. The BCC Motion Key, meanwhile, automates rotoscoping. You can remove moving cars or other objects from a scene, for example, by automatically painting them out with Optical Flow technology.
