Ian Crouch of The New Yorker analyzes the recently released interactive music video for Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone." In the video, users can flip through channels to see a myriad of characters, reality TV stars and more singing along to Dylan's hit.
Writes Crouch, "What is going on here? What might it all mean? On a business level, the video is timed to promote the release, just in time for the holidays, of a massive, forty-plus-album boxed set that spans Dylan’s entire career. Yet Dylan has consistently showed that art can spring from commerce, and this video manages to be more than a just promotional tool."
