Old-fashioned television sets were once created out of 483 scan lines. Artists Kimchi and Chips bring that concept back to life with their 483 Lines installation.

The artists use large stretches of kevlar rope facing each other and project black-and-white patterns on each. "The audience is presented with highly parallel lines which contrast the darker space, building panoramic moiré patterns," the artists explain on their site. "Video projection is used to address each line with digital pixels, activating visual matter within the volume of string."
