The front page of Images of Freedom
DENVER–Wazee Digital has announced that it has officially completed work to add public domain video assets onto the Department of Defense’s Images of Freedom media archive. In the past the website only had pictures to offer for public use.
The Images of Freedom website is an online archive of media artifacts owned and collected by the DoD. It serves as a portal for documentarians, members of the media, families of military personnel and educational institutions wishing to purchase military photos, video and audio–some of which dates back to World War II.
“It’s an honor for Wazee Digital to be entrusted with protecting and preserving America’s visual history. With this video implementation, the DoD can rest assured that the public will have access to all content, not just still imagery,” said Tanya Sudolnik, vice president of product line management at Wazee Digital.
New videos, pictures or audio are added daily and Wazee expects the site to hold over three million assets of video, audio and pictures by 2018.
