DENVER—Wazee Digital is rolling out a “controlled vocabulary” option for its Wazee Digital Core asset management system, and among its first customers is the U.S. Department of Defense.
Controlled vocabulary allows Core clients to import and use one or more custom thesauri within the application. This enables for standardization of terminology within Core. In addition, “search type ahead” and “term assist” features help with search-term continuity.
The Department of Defense’s Defense Imagery Management Operations Center (DIMOC) helped develop the controlled vocabulary option. It uses the feature for its Images of Freedom archive, which provides access to the catalog of content managed by the Department.
Core’s controlled vocabulary function is now available for all Core users.
