WASHINGTON—The Radio Television Digital News Association is helping lead the crusade to get cameras, microphones and electronic newsgathering equipment into courtrooms on both the state and federal levels. One resource that the organization is offering in relation to this is its “Cameras in the Courts Guide.”
The guide offers a look at the rules regarding video and still cameras, microphones, laptops, smartphones, liveblogging and tweeting from every state and courts at the federal level. The guide features links to constitutional provisions, state laws and administrative orders or policies that form the basis of each state’s rules. There are also links to media guides and sources of video and audio coverage.
Interested individuals can visit RTDNA’s Cameras in the Courts page on its website to check out information for their state.
