A program to improve port security with extended radar and video surveillance capabilities for northern Narragansett Bay and the Port of Providence has been completed by Raytheon Company.
Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems delivered sensors, to include mobile video, integrated with an Athena data fusion and operations center, giving city officials advanced warning and improved situational awareness in the region. The expanded capabilities provide the city’s new Emergency Operations Center with information and intelligence for Providence port and law enforcement officials.
“Raytheon is proud to be the source of proven, affordable solutions for national and international homeland security needs,” said Mary Petryszyn, vice president of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems’ Civil Security and Response Programs business area. “Providing this capability to one of America’s important port cities will help keep our country safe.”
