Optoma Debuts Two Portable Projectors

The 3100-lumen W304M and the 3000-lumen X304M provide full 3D capability

Optoma has introduced two new projectors, the 3100-lumen W304M and the 3000-lumen X304M, which are the most advanced image processing available in the three-pound, portable projector class, the company says.
Both the WXGA resolution W304M and the XGA resolution X304M capitalize on Texas Instruments most advanced digital light processing chip set to deliver high color performance and image quality, Optoma says.
Powered by the new DDP4421 chips from TI, both projectors provide features previously found only on premium models, Optoma says. The new chip provides full 3D capability, HDMI 1.4a, in any of the common formats, and it offers the most advanced and most complete image controller available, the company says. An increased contrast ratio, combined with TI’s BrilliantColor2 technology, further enhance the processing, resulting in greater color performance, the firm says.
In addition, both the W304Mand the X304M offer the level of connectivity necessary to satisfy current and future needs, including wireless capabilities and a more intuitive menu system that makes both projectors easy to operate, according to Optoma.
“Mobility is not an acceptable excuse for sub-par performance or feature limitations,” said Jon Grodem, Optoma’s senior director of product and marketing. “These new projectors put superior performance and portability back in the same sentence, and, most importantly, put them in the hands of anyone needing to make impressive presentations on-the-go,” he said.
