The Open Network Video Interface Forum, an industry forum tasked with facilitating the integration of network-security devices using an open standard, has designated the VN-T Series of Internet protocol-based security cameras by JVC Professional Products Company, a producer of IP and analog security cameras, as “Profile S” devices.
Released in early 2012, Profile S makes it easier for users and system designers to manage interoperable features between IP-based cameras, video management systems, and other devices, according to JVC. Among its requirements, Profile S includes support for video, audio and metadata streaming, plus pan, tilt and zoom control and relay outputs for devices that include those features, the company said.
The JVC cameras with Profile S support include the VN-T16U box camera, VN-T216U mini-dome and VN-T216VPRU outdoor (IP66) dome camera with infrared capabilities, the firm said. All three day/night Megapixel cameras feature a 1/2.7-inch LoLux HD CMOS sensor for full HD (1080p) images, according to JVC.
“The Profile S designation is important, because it ensures JVC cameras deliver interoperability with security equipment from a variety of manufacturers,” said John Grabowski, JVC Security Division’s national sales and marketing manager.
