Live HD Video From Mars? NASA Is Getting Ready

New probe to carry system to transmit live, HD video between the two planets

WASHINGTON—When Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, millions watched the grainy footage. NASA would like to improve the picture quality when the first American walks on Mars. Having already developed a system that can transmit live HD video from the Moon to Earth, NASA is taking steps to expand that reach to Mars by readying a new probe that will carry a communication system that will transmit live, HD video the 140 million miles from the Red Planet to Earth.
