Howard U. Picks Human Circuit to Integrate Video, Management Systems

The integrator working with B-Line Medical, a producer of medical simulation and clinical skills centers

Howard University’s College of Medicine has selected integrator Human Circuit to install media and technology systems at the college’s Simulation Center in collaboration with B-Line Medical, a producer of medical simulation and clinical skills centers.

To better prepare students for careers as health-care providers, simulation and clinical training facilities offer hands-on opportunities in clinical situations, according to Human Circuit. Those facilities digitally record and store student performance footage on video servers so administrators and instructors can view and evaluate students in real-time, according to the integrator.

Human Circuit says they and B-Line Medical have integrated video and audio equipment at facilities similar to the Howard Simulation Center as well as applied designs and applications specifically for case study rooms, self-teaching labs, patient exam rooms, observation rooms and audio-video control and computer rooms.

The technology within the Howard Simulation Center is a web-based digital solution with a master control room that acts as a central location for managing the technology, according to Human Circuit. The system enables faculty to capture, debrief and assess student encounters with simulated patients, in addition to providing students with the opportunity to do self-assessment, the company says.
