Pelosi Rejects C-SPAN Using Own Cameras for Impeachment Hearings

Will prevent any protests or disruptions from being shown on screen.

WASHINGTON—C-SPAN will not be granted to use its own cameras during coverage of the debate on articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, such was the decision by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

The impeachment articles are scheduled to be debated Wednesday, Dec. 18, followed by a vote, which could be pushed to Thursday. Reports indicate that C-SPAN had requested to use its own cameras to supplement video feed controlled by the House.

The House-controlled cameras are usually the only setup during C-SPAN coverage, but the network was hoping to provide means to capture kind of protest—for or against impeachment—that might take place, as the standard cameras do not pan.
