‘First Responders Live’ Helps Law Enforcement Connect With Local Communities

Charleston, S.C., police department offer a first-hand look at law officials.

CHARLESTON, S.C.—Not all reality television is about handing out roses or keeping up with celebrities, in some cases it can help provide insight into a group of people that we don’t always get to see. Such is the case with “First Responders Live,” a reality TV show on Fox that portrays law enforcement and other first responders as they perform their jobs.

The show has had a positive impact on the community of Charleston, S.C., as the area’s police department has been one of the featured subjects. Another avenue of the police department’s recent attempts at social outreach, providing profiles on individuals in the department and showing their day-to-day tasks so that the public has a better idea of all that goes into their jobs.
