Vitec, a video encoding and streaming solutions designer, will be showing its latest video streaming solutions at this year’s Government Video Expo, located at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., from Dec. 7-8.
“Broadcast-quality content and comprehensive video management capabilities are paramount to the success of military operations and government agencies,” says Dan Quinn, federal sales director at Vitec.
Front and center is the Vitec EZ TV 8.0 IPTV platform, a hardware-based system for digital signage and IP television management. The system now has updated digital signage capabilities.
Also on display is the “credit card-sized” MGW Pico TOUGH, a H.264 HD/SD encoding and streaming appliance meant for unmanned airborne platforms, military vehicles, and ground units. The MGW Pico TOUGH is certified for extreme environmental conditions and consumes less than 7 watts of power. The appliance encodes in 1080p, has JITC-compliant metadata processing, ES encryption, error-correction technology, real-time resolution scaling, and image cropping.
Vitec is also showing off a portable encoder and decoder set. The MGW Ace provides H.264 encoding capabilities and the MGW D265 is the HEVC IP decoder. The pair forms a solution for streaming video, audio, and KLV metadata while in the field or on the move.
Vitec’s Government Video Expo booth is #510.
