GV Expo: Panasonic Brings Big Range of Cams, Recorders and More

 Studio cams, camcorders, security cams, switchers and more are all on tap.

Panasonic will have a significant presence at Government Video Expo, Dec. 2-3 in Washington, with its range of professional video cameras, camcorders, security tools, recorders and plenty more.

For starters, Emmy-nominated producer, director, writer and editor Bernie Mitchell, president of Silver Platter Productions, will take a look at the latest AVCCAM gear including the new AG-HMC40 handheld camcorder (which captures 10.6-megapixel still photos), the HMR10 recorder and the HCK10 camera head. That’s Weds., Dec. 2, from 12:45 to 1:15 p.m. in the Presentation Theater at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

Thur., Dec. 3 at noon, Jan Crittenden Livingston, product line business manager for DVCPRO and P2 HD Products and a 35-year industry veteran will discuss “Solid State, From Acquisition to Archive” at the Presentation Theater.

P2 HD VariCams: The VariCam 3700 and VariCam 2700 deliver a solid-state recording and workflow and the distinct, prized look of film. AJ-HPX3700 (VariCam 3700) is Panasonic’s premier 2/3-inch 2.2-MP camcorder and offers 10-bit, 4:2:2, full-raster 1920×1080 recording (AVC-Intra) with Dual link RGB 4:4:4 output and log response capability. The AJ-HPX2700 (VariCam 2700) is a 2/3-inch HD Cinema camera with 10-bit, 4:2:2, full-raster 1920×1080 recording (AVC-Intra) and variable frame rates (1-60 fps in 1-frame increments).

Camcorder Studio System: The studio system for P2 HD and DVCPRO HD camcorders (including the AG-HPX300) offers high-quality digital signal transmission at up to 328 feet plus and offers full camera operation, menu and setting control including camera shading and painting. The system includes a compact digital Base Station (AG-BS300), Camera Adapter (AG-CA300G), Extension Control Unit (AG-EC4G) and a Viewfinder Interface Box (AG-YA500G). It is sold in four custom packages ranging from $9,900 to $13,078.

AG-HMC150 Pro 3-CCD Handheld AVCCAM Camcorder: This handheld AVCCAM solid-state camcorder captures high definition images in 1080 or 720p on widely-available SD cards using advanced AVCHD compression.
