G&D Developed KVM Units for Air Traffic Control Rooms

New products will be on display during the World ATM Congress 2018

SIEGEN, GERMANY—Guntermann & Drunck GmbH will take off for the World ATM Congress 2018 with a series of KVM devices that the company designed specifically for use in air traffic control rooms.

One of these products includes the KVM switch DP1.2-MUX3-ATC. This platform allows the operation of up to three computers and ultra-fast switching between computers, per G&D, enabling air traffic control operators to operate the primary, redundancy and fallback systems from a single workstation. The DP1.2-MUX3-ATC supports DisplayPort1.2 resolutions and 4K video at 60 Hz. It can switch latency and loss-free between individual channels and can also be combined with extender systems. Additional features include screen-freeze function, SNMP and monitoring.

G&D have also developed the KVM extender DP1.2-VisionXG for airport navigation service providers. The DP1.2-VisionXG extends the incoming high-resolution video transparently and without any loss, while also keeping the image unaltered at the remote workstation, G&D says.

There will also be the DP-1.2Vision compressing system for providing high video quality. The platform compresses video signals, which allows the systems to use a lower bandwidth. The distance between the technical room and the workstation can be bridged using CAT cables or fiber optics. Compressed signals can be processed, extended and switched through KVM matrix systems.

In addition, G&D has its own compression method, High Dynamic Image Processing, Level 3. This enables latency-free transmission and high image quality. All of the platforms G&D will show are compatible and can be combined with each other.

The World ATM Congress 2018 will take place from March 6-8 in Madrid. G&D will be at booth 433.
