Government Video Website of the Week:

The website is a source for vendors and integrators of audiovisual equipment

For vendors and integrators of audiovisual, surveillance or production equipment looking to market those products to the U.S. government, is the website to access to find out what the federal agencies are seeking at any given time. lists government contract opportunities greater than $25,000, and there are several ways to utilize the website and search for potential government contract work. Starting with the website’s search engine, vendors and integrators can locate potential contracts for supplies or services by using a solicitation number, a North American Industrial Classification System code, the date when the solicitation was made public, a procurement classification code or the name of the agency.
Those are among the most widely used means to find a solicitation, but because the whole federal procurement system can be confusing, has a series of videos, for both vendors and government buyers, that are designed to ease the procurement process.
An example of a vendor video is “Finding Recovery Act-Funded Opportunities: An Overview of and;” and a government-buyer video is “FBO Train-the-Trainer: Finding Opportunities.”
Solicitations can also be found by agency, and there are more than 100 pages on the website listing the agencies. Each agency listing includes the number of offices an agency has and a history of its solicitations. For example, the Defense Logistics Agency is listed as having one office and 22,517 solicitation notices. The history is provided so vendors can determine patterns of when an agency is likely to seek a product.
In addition to solicitation histories, lists both “upcoming releases,” and solicitation “enhancements and changes” that vendors and integrators would want to be informed about.
For providing vendors and integrators with information — including video instruction — on how to navigate the U.S. government’s procurement process, is Government Video’s Website of the Week.
