The Pentagon is making certain its online presence is all it can be.

The new, improved Defense.gov sheds good light on the nation right from the start. In the upper-right, the Department of Defense announces that it wants to hear from viewers, with an opportunity to submit questions to the Secretary-some of which may even get answered in upcoming “virtual town hall”events.
On the home page’s upper left are quick links for Twitter, Facebook, RSS feeds, the branches of the armed services, and all the rest.
And then there’s the media: photos, videos and lots of them, diligently updated. There’s a front-page link to the Pentagon Channel and its monster load on on-demand content. And there are special features and links to many high-demand areas, all easily accessible.
It looks like some folks did a lot of planning on this Website to make it inviting, easy to navigate, useful and packed with information and media.
So, for this particular effort and the work of the thousands that go into maintaining and providing content for the site, Defense.gov is is the Government Video Website of the Week.
