Government Demand for Drones Will Soar Through 2025

The government is expected to help contribute to the growing drone craze in the upcoming years, according to a new study from The Freedonia Group.

WASHINGTON—The government is expected to help contribute to the growing drone craze in the upcoming years, according to a new study from The Freedonia Group. In 2015, the spending for drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles was at $100 million, the study predicts that by 2025 that will rise to $250 million. Additional findings forecast that drone shipments to governments will hit 9,030 by 2025 (up from 1,400 in 2015) and that federal agency spending on drones will grow from the $90 million in 2015 to $170 million.
