Four AR and VR Projects That Point to the Future of Education

NYC Media Lab took a look at some projects during its Exploring Future Reality conference

NEW YORK—Augmented and virtual reality have found a place in the classroom in recent years, providing new opportunities for students. As the technology continues to develop, NYC Media Lab recently identified four projects that can help push educational possibilities forward at its Exploring Future Reality conference. The four projects are Kiwi Mobile AR, which encourages participation with AR and social media; Street Smarts VR training and simulators for police; Bloomberg AR for Enterprise Fellowship for AR learning in the workplace; and Calling Thunder: The Unsung History of Manhattan, a VR program exploring Manhattan before industrialization.
