Finding Cost Savings in Government Installations

As many government agencies anticipate tighter budgets, it has become more important than ever to reduce costs.

As many government agencies anticipate tighter budgets, it has become more important than ever to reduce costs. Agencies are asking dealers to value-engineer solutions to prepare for uncertain finances when designing conference rooms. Vaddio offers several ways to cut costs while expanding the capabilities of government AV spaces.

One of the biggest, easiest ways to save money in an AV budget is to swap in Vaddio PTZ cameras into specs. Vaddio has the only BAA- and TAA-compliant cameras on the market, and dealers can save thousands for every camera they switch out for a RoboSHOT camera. That adds up quickly in large-scale installations.

Easy-to-install systems can save time and contribute to overall budget savings as well. Two new RoboSHOT PTZ cameras use HDBaseT technology for transmission of ultra-high definition video and audio, Ethernet, serial controls and power all over a single cable. When paired with a Vaddio OneLINK® HDMI receiver, RoboSHOT HDBT cameras enable installers to eliminate cable clutter and simplify installations, without compromising performance or quality.

RoboSHOT 12 and 30 HDBT cameras offer superior wide dynamic range (WDR) for clear detail in high-contrast, bright lighting conditions. The RoboSHOT 30 HDBT Camera is designed with an Exmor R™ image sensor which gives the camera better light gathering capabilities and provides incredible contrast, vivid colors and sharp images – even in dimly-lit interiors.

Designing the room as a multi-use space is another way to use budgets wisely. When rooms don’t need to provide secure point-to-point communications at all times, Vaddio solutions can provide easy connectivity via USB connection.

The AV Bridge can open up a codec system to switch over to USB output for soft client usage. This allows point-to-point rooms to be used for other applications when security isn’t necessary.

The AV Bridge MatrixMIX Multipurpose AV Switcher allows organizations to enhance their presentations with interactive content for a superior user experience – and live stream it to a UC application as well. This is the industry’s first AV production switcher that brings live event production to UC applications.

With its innovative crossover design, the AV Bridge MatrixMIX can be used in a host of applications including live events, training sessions, distance learning, automated presentations, collaboration and more. The AV Bridge MatrixMIX offers a multi-functional feature set that combines switching, advanced camera control, streaming and graphics mixing capabilities – all from a single appliance.

When paired with two other new Vaddio products – the new PCC MatrixMIX Live Production Controller, and TeleTouch 27 USB Touch-Screen Multiviewer, plus Vaddio cameras, audio devices or trigger sensors, the AV Bridge MatrixMIX enables an integrator to create customized solutions for a number of specific applications. For example, the AV Bridge MatrixMIX can be configured as a local presentation switcher for a lecture capture application, or it can be configured for a PC-based collaboration session. Because it can be controlled and configured remotely, an operator can use the AV Bridge MatrixMIX in large enterprise applications where a remote control center is used.

Another multi-purpose solution from Vaddio is the OneLINK Bridge AV Interface. It combines a camera extension system with an audio mixer to provide USB bridging functionality, making it easy to create a USB media stream for popular PC software applications. End users can convert an audio/video source into a USB 3.0 media stream to use applications like Skype for Business, Google Hangouts, WebEx and Zoom.

The OneLINK Bridge uses HDBaseT technology to extend power, control and video from Vaddio RoboSHOT cameras, third party PTZ cameras, and compatible HDBaseT A/V switchers up to 328’ (100 m) over a single HDBaseT Cat-5e/6 cable. Its audio capabilities include two mic/line inputs with echo cancellation, two line outputs, and associated digital audio channels. It provides composite USB video output up to 1080p/60 along with bi-directional USB audio channels to ensure optimal content quality.

The OneLINK Bridge works with compatible Vaddio RoboSHOT HDBT Cameras and the RoboSHOT 20 UHD Camera, and is available in kits designed for use with Cisco®, Polycom®, Sony® and Panasonic® and Vaddio PTZ Cameras. The OneLINK Bridge can also be used as a stand-alone HDBaseT receiver to get USB 3.0 (video and audio), HDMI and HD-SDI to the table from HDBaseT AV switchers from Crestron®, AMX® and Kramer®.

Easy-to-use systems save time in the conference room – from trying to figure out the mechanics of the meeting to focusing on collaborating instead. For small, non-classified rooms, the ConferenceSHOT AV Conferencing System can provide an easy solution that provides new price/performance standards for USB-based enterprise-class conferencing systems.

The ConferenceSHOT AV camera was designed with government, corporate, healthcare and education environments in mind – places where USB-based BYOD or dedicated PCs are being used in the conference room. The ConferenceSHOT AV camera integrates a 10x zoom PTZ camera and audio conferencing mixer into a single USB 3.0 device, so you can easily connect up to two microphones and an external speaker directly to the camera. It allows simple plug and play functionality with all major UCC soft clients, such as Skype for Business, WebEx and Google.

Like all Vaddio RoboSHOT cameras, the ConferenceSHOT AV camera has a browser-based user interface that allows for remote operation of the camera from anywhere with access to the network.
