Electrosonic’s Bowie Tapped for InfoComm’s Mackey Barron Award

InfoComm International has announced the 2017 recipient of the Mackey Barron Distinguished Achievement Award, with Jim Bowie, the retiring president and CEO of Electrosonic, receiving the honor.

LOS ANGELES—InfoComm International has announced the 2017 recipient of the Mackey Barron Distinguished Achievement Award, with Jim Bowie, the retiring president and CEO of Electrosonic, receiving the honor. Bowie will receive the award during InfoComm 2017 in Orlando, Fla.

The Mackey Barron Distinguished Achievement Award is regarded as the highest honor from InfoComm International for a lifetime of contribution, leadership and commitment to excellence in AV. InforComm cited Bowie’s 30-year career in AV and his years as a systems engineer and CEO at Electrosonic, in which he helped open Electrosonic’s Burbank, Calif., office; launched an apprenticeship program at the company; and supported InfoComm training programs and the Certified Technology Specialist program.

Bowie is set to retire from his position at the end of June, but will remain as a senior advisor to the Board of Electrosonic Group.

InfoComm will present the Mackey Barron Award to Bowie on June 14 during a special ceremony.
