Delaware Officer Gets Down with Taylor Swift

Music hath charms to soothe the savage beast

Dover Police Officer Jeff Davis

Police officers are often thought of as straightforward and inflexible, enforcing the rules to the letter of the law. However, some police officers are downright flexible, with the moves to prove it.

So it was with Officer Jeff Davis of the Dover, Del., Police Department. Davis went for a ride in his car and immediately caught the groove of Taylor Swift’s hit “Shake It Off.” Fortunately, Davis’ moves were captured on his car’s dash cam.

The resulting video quickly went viral on YouTube, which earned Davis quite a bit of attention. As it turns out, the Dover Police Department has a sense of humor, since it was the organization that actually posted the video.

If you look carefully at the video, it looks like all of Davis’ driving is in parking lots and uncrowded roads, quite possibly in a rural and quiet location. I’m absolutely positive that the police don’t want to encourage you to enjoy music to this extent on a busy city street.

All I can say is, if I ever get pulled over by the police, I hope the officer can shake it off as well as Jeff Davis. Take a look at the video and see what you think.
