Christie Powers On-Court Projector for Florida Gators

Christie Boxer 2K30 projectors are being used to bump up Florida crowd

CYPRESS, CALIF.—The University of Florida is getting fans at the O’Connell Center in to the action with on-court projection mapping shows, powered by Christie. The arena features four Christie Boxer 2K30 projectors and a Christie Pandoras Box Manager that were installed permanently after a one game experiment in February 2017.

Two projectors are placed on each side of the court, enabling the Boxer projectors to blend their content into a single image. In addition to the Boxer’s brightness, Eric Gazzillo of Quince Imaging, who installed the projectors, said that Florida chose the unit for its low maintenance, built-in six-lamp per unit redundancy and the ability to be upgraded to future technology. The Pandoras Box, meanwhile, provides real-time compositing of the imagery and motion tracking.

The school uses the systems to display a virtual gators logo, the championship banners for its teams, and athlete photos and stats on the court.
