The Brazilian Federal Police is making a major improvement to its video, image and audio enhancement capabilities with the acquisition of nine systems based on dTective and ClearID software from Burtonville, Md.-based Ocean Systems.
Ocean Systems dTective forensic video analysis system Working with video, Ocean Systems software tools use de-interlacing, frame averaging, image stabilization and other techniques–with ease of use and step-by-step documentation–to enhance forensic evidence and enable investigators to find useful information even in highly imperfect raw materials.
“This award is highly significant,” said Ocean Systems President Angelo Guarino. “The Brazilian government has made a substantial commitment to upgrade their forensic analysis capabilities, and we are very pleased to be part of the growth in technology being used in Brazil.”
Currently, there are more than 1,500 dTective systems in place within local, state and federal law enforcement agencies across North America and around the world.
As part of the contract, Ocean Systems will also provide specialized training on the use of these systems to designated Brazilian Federal Investigators, on-site in Brazil–as well as provide all ongoing technical support.
