Gary Adams Blackmagic Design used this year’s Government Video Expo to showcase some of the company’s ultra-high definition (UHD) video offerings, with show-goers crowding the company’s display area to inspect the new camera products.
“The biggest attention-getters for us at the show this time are our 4K cameras,” said Gary Adams, Blackmagic’s DaVinci Resolve product manager, noting that the studio model being displayed was one of the more affordable 4K products, as it’s priced at only $3,000 without lens.
Blackmagic’s high-end URSA 4K digital cinema camera, which sports a very wide dynamic range and offers high frame-rate image capture, was being shown alongside the 4K studio model, and was another big draw at the booth.
“We also brought along some of our ATEM switcher product line and that’s getting its fair share of attention too,” said Adams.
He observed that Blackmagic is now offering a dozen camera products and the two models, along with the ATEM switcher gear being exhibited were just the tip of the iceberg as concerns the company’s vast range of television broadcast and production products.
“Blackmagic now has over 100 products available now,” said Adams. “There’s no way we could show all of those here today.
