The U.S. Army has selected Quantum3D Inc.’s, a producer of visual computing solutions for government and commercial applications, infantry combat training simulator to train troops.
In addition, Intelligent Decisions Inc., a systems integrator, will deploy Quantum3D’s ExpeditionDI immersive training platform to train soldiers.
“Intelligent Decisions and Quantum3D are partnering to provide our deploying soldiers with the best available training through the new Dismounted Soldier Training System,” said Harry Martin, president and chief executive officer of Intelligent Decisions.
ExpeditionDI is a self-contained, wearable and fully immersive combat-infantry training simulator. It has a high-resolution head-mounted display and a battery-powered wearable computing pack that enable an infantry squad to move through and interact in a virtual environment while fighting and communicating as they would in a real combat situation.
As part of the Intelligent Decisions Dismounted Soldier Training System, ExpeditionDI will enable soldiers to easily and more effectively simulate individual, and squad-based, combat exercises. The Dismounted Soldier Training System allows soldiers, leaders and units to train in a virtual environment, helping improve the quality of instruction and combat preparedness, while simultaneously reducing training expenses.
