Analog Way Unveils ‘NeXtage 16’ Audiovisual Processor

The unit is a switcher featuring four independent true seamless layers per screen

Analog Way, a provider of presentation switchers and image converter products, introduces the NeXtage 16, an audiovisual processor and switcher based on the company’s LiveCore platform.

Featuring live processing as well as “Soft Edge Blend” capabilities for presentations, the NeXtage 16 is a seamless switcher with “a rugged reinforced chassis and hardware,” Analog Way says. Equipped with 16 scalers, eight seamless inputs and two main outputs, the processor offers 28 input plugs (4 x HDMI, 6 x DVI-D, 2 x DisplayPort, 8 x 3G-SDI and 8 x Universal Analog). It features four independent true seamless layers per screen, as well as an independent native background layer included for Soft Edge Blending or individual screen modes.
The switch between the input plugs can be operated in Clean Cut, and the company says the NeXtage 16 also offers connectivity through a small form pluggable cage to receive a large choice of optical SFP modules per output. The device can handle sources from composite video, up to 2560 x 1600 (digital video interface dual-link available) and also outputs formats, including HD-TV and computer up to 2560 x 1600.
The 16-scaled layers per screen can be controlled individually, and any source can be resized. Up to 50 frames and 50 logos can be stored in the NeXtage 16 memory via a universal serial bus plug and are resizable to support all settings and transitions, the company says.
The NeXtage 16 offers associative modularity as four units can produce multiple widescreen solutions with Soft Edge Blending or Hard Edge, and the unit can be controlled directly from its front panel or using a Web remote control Software, Analog Ways says. In addition, the front panel offers a large, thin film transistor color display with a graphic user interface that enables direct on-screen monitoring of sources, the firm says.
The NeXtage 16 meets the company’s goal of a product that “combines high performance and user-friendliness,” says Franck Facon, Analog Way’s marketing and communications director.
