How quickly can a couple of lanes of road get paved?

How quickly can a couple of lanes of road get paved?

This video shows a demonstration by the American Concrete Paving Association, Maryland Ready Mix Concrete Association and the Maryland Highway Administration of “fast-track” concrete paving in traffic conditions simulated in a parking lot.

Lane One was completed in the morning. Seven hours and 45 minutes after the Lane One closure, the desired 2,000 psi capacity was reached in the last pour and simulated traffic was moved to Lane One.

Lane Two construction began with 70,000-pound concrete mixers successfully driving over the fresh Lane One concrete. Lane Two was opened for traffic after reaching 2,000 psi capacity in 7 hours.
